| “Research as the Vital Force for Innovation” has been chosen to be the theme for the national research conference that the Brokenshire College-Research and Publication Office (BC-RPO) has conducted. It was a tie-up project of BC-RPO and Association of Christian Schools, Colleges, and Universities (ACSCU). With the approval of the Vice-President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), Dr. Linell G. Malimbag, the whole day program was performed last May 19, 2014 at Martha’s Place of Brokenshire College. The RPO director, Dr. Felix C. Chavez, Jr., headed the preparation for the said conference. Two sets of activity were given during the Interdisciplinarity 2.0. In the morning was the giving of honors to the program by the invited guests and by the keynote and plenary speakers; while during the afternoon was the research paper presentation of the presenters. The Interdisciplinarity 2.0 is the version two of the firstly conducted research conference – Interdisciplinarity 1.0, of BC-RPO during the first quarter of 2013. It was led by the same RPO Director and with the assistance of Ms. Raulyn C. Fuentes, the former Research and Publication Staff. The Interdisciplinarity 2.0 was certainly adopted from the pioneering research conference of the office. The ninety-four participants from different school regions have been welcomed by the VPAA, Dr. Malimbag, which then followed by the RPO Director, Dr. Chavez, Jr., who enunciated the rationale of the conference. Dr. Cesar A. Adegue IV, the Education Supervisor II from Commission on higher Education (CHED) Region XI, also honored the program with the spontaneity of his speech. To substantiate the overall of the conference, the organizers invited keynote and plenary speakers to speak in the morning event of the conference. Dr. Aretha Ann G. Liwag, the Research Coordinator and Chairperson from the Quality Assurance of West Visayas State University Medical Center, was requested and agreed to be the keynote speaker for the said event. On the same hand, Dr. Enrique G. Oracion, the Director for Research and Development Center and at the same time a Professor of Sociology and Anthropology from Siliman University, has spoken for the plenary. To complete the program which is as well the main objective of the program, parallel sessions have done during the afternoon where presenters were able to present their research papers. The parallel session was divided into six streams/academic discipline to where Social Science, Math & Engineering, Business & Management, Science & Ecology, Education, and Language & Communication were considered. At the end of the event, the participants were given certificates of participation and recognition as gratification to their involvement in the success of the activity. The conference has been closed by Rev. Leopoldo R. Naïve, BC President, by giving his final remarks. |
