To broaden the knowledge of students in the field of research and its techniques on writing, the Brokenshire College Inc. conducted a webinar with the theme, โPrinciples of Research Writing and Generative AI Integrationโ led by the ASBME faculty on September 27, 2024. Students from the ASBME department and MLS participated in the webinar.
At the tertiary level, research writing is required in every program, and with this webinar, the guest speaker, Mr. Paul Rean Fred D. Quibo-Quibo, LPT, MAEd, COAP, also a chairperson in BC Research Council, shared his valuable insights on how to write a research paper effectively. He started with the basics such as exploring the different parts of the paper, and the proper format for each section, until he discussed the integration of artificial intelligence in writing.
Artificial intelligence is a prominent tool in this era and its usage promotes effectiveness and convenience. Mr. Quibo-Quibo carefully discussed how AI can be utilized in the field of research, while taking its ethical implication into consideration. Students were also encouraged to share their screens, showing their attempts in using of generative AI tools.
The webinar concluded successfully, equipping participants with a deeper understanding of AI's influence on research writing.
