Brokenshire College, Inc. proudly participated in the GAD Summit 2024 spearheaded by the Commission on Higher Education Region XI (CHED XI) in collaboration with the Regional Gender and Development Advocates Network (RGAN) XI, the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) XI, and other higher education institutions across Davao Region. The event was held at Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) in Panabo City.

With the theme โ€œRe-thinking SDG 5: Gender Equality in Instruction, Research, and Extension,โ€ the summit provided a meaningful platform to discuss and promote Sustainable Development Goal 5โ€”advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls in higher education.

Distinguished plenary speakers included Sr. Ma. Marissa Viri, President of the University of the Immaculate Conception, who tackled โ€œSDG 5 in Higher Education: Are Women Doing Better Now?โ€ and Prof. Maria Easterluna S. Canoy, Executive Director of Kitanglad Integrated NGOs, who emphasized โ€œEmpowerment of Women and Indigenous People in the Subnational Setting.โ€

Representatives from Brokenshire College joined fellow participants from SUCs, LUCs, and private HEIs in reaffirming their support for the 18-day campaign to end Violence Against Women (VAW), echoing the powerful call: โ€œVAW Bigyang Wakas, Ngayon na ang Oras.โ€

Through this engagement, Brokenshire College continues to strengthen its commitment to gender equality, inclusivity, and empowermentโ€”upholding its vision of developing transformative leaders for a just and humane society.
