The Brokenshire College NSTP Education students spearheaded a meaningful advocacy campaign titled “Prevent Today, Protect Tomorrow,” an anti-illegal drugs and anti-smoking program aimed at raising awareness among Junior High School students about the dangers of substance abuse and tobacco use.
The campaign served as part of the students’ National Service Training Program (NSTP) initiative, integrating community engagement and value formation. Through interactive discussions, visual presentations, and educational activities, the Education students encouraged young learners to make healthy choices and to say no to harmful habits that could affect their future.
The program emphasized the importance of early prevention, self-discipline, and informed decision-making, aligning with national efforts to combat drug dependency and smoking among the youth. The NSTP students also shared practical tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, resisting peer pressure, and being advocates of a drug-free and smoke-free environment.
The campaign reflects Brokenshire College’s continuous commitment to holistic education, where students are molded not only to excel academically but also to become responsible citizens and community leaders who promote wellness and positive change.
With the theme “Prevent Today, Protect Tomorrow,” the activity serves as a reminder that safeguarding the future begins with the choices made today — inspiring the youth to take an active role in protecting themselves, their peers, and their communities from the dangers of addiction and smoking.
