LRMC Services

Borrowing of Book/s:

A. Open www.brokenshire.edu.ph then go directly to Services and click Learning Resource and Multimedia Center - Web OPAC.

B. In the Web OPAC, the borrower may search and browse the available materials in the library he/she intended to borrow and fill up the Google form or send it through FB messenger (BC LRMC FB Page -College& SHS) / (Medicine Library- Brokenshire College Medical Library (Broken shire College - Basic Education Libraries FB Page - CDC & JHS) with the following details name, email add, course, year level, the title of the book/s, author, copyright, call number.

C. The borrower will be notified through email regarding the status of the request as well as the scheduled date and time to pick up.

D. The borrower should pick up the book/s based on the scheduled date and given time.

E. Borrowed book/s can be picked up at the school lobby guard on duty.

Claiming or picking up the book/s:

• The borrower should present the BC Student ID and show a printout or screenshot of the form sent by the Library Personnel to the guard on duty as proof.

• If a (parent or guardian) will the one to claim or pick up the book/s, he/she should present any valid government ID for verification.

• In adherence to GCQ guidelines students aged 21 years old and above, parents or guardian is the only ones allowed to pick up the book/s

F. Students may borrow a maximum of three (3) books for two (2) weeks while the faculty may borrow a maximum of five (5) books per semester and can be renewed every month

G. Borrowers assume full responsibility for the borrowed library material/s

Renewal of Book/s :

A. Renewal of the library materials can be done through messaging the BC LRMC FB Page or account lrmc@brokenshire.edu.ph

B. Inform the library personnel before the due date of the borrowed book/s to avoid to be charged with book fines.

C.The borrower will be notified through email regarding the status of the request as well as the receipt of the renewed book/s.

Overdue Book/s :

A. Borrowers are expected to return all borrowed materials on the scheduled date.

B. Books fines will be charged to overdue borrowed book/s.

C. Delinquent borrowers are not allowed to renew or borrow any library materials unless accounts are settled.

Returning of Book/s

A. Secure the returning form to the school lobby guard or may download the form sent by the librarian/staff. Fill up the form and insert it in the borrowed book/s.

B. Do not return the materials directly to the security guard or the library staff because we are enforcing safety protocols. All returned books will be quarantined for 72 hours before checking in and made available for borrowing.

C. Place the borrowed book/s at the Book Drop Box at the school lobby.

D. For the safety of the book/s, plastic bag is provided before dropping it to the Book Drop Box.

E. Dropping time is from Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

F. Receipt of Acknowledgment will be sent to the borrower through email.

1. A bonafide Brokenshire College student may request a scanned copy of the book available at the Learning Resource and Multimedia Center.

2. Open the www.brokenshire.edu.ph then go directly to Services. Click Learning Resource and Multimedia Center - Web OPAC and search or browse the available reading resources.

3. For the Theses/ Research Projects kindly check the posted lists of Theses/ Researches at BC LRMC FB Page (College & SHS) and Brokenshire College - Basic Education Libraries FB Page (JHS).

4. In compliance with the Copyright Law, Intellectual Property Rights, and Fair Use. The library can only scan a maximum of 10 pages (per request) of the material for this service.

5. Delivery time required 2-3 working days, depending on the availability of the reading resources and it will be delivered electronically via email.

6. Fill up the Google form or send the document delivery request through FB messenger (BC LRMC FB Page -College& SHS) / (Medicine Library- Brokenshire College Medical Library ( Broken shire College - Basic Education Libraries FB Page - CDC & JHS).

  • One way foot traffic is implemented, thus there is one Entrance and Exit door to limit intersection.
  • Upon entering the library premise, hand sanitizer is provided for disinfection.
  • Log-in and log-out is required for contract tracing and monitoring purposes.
  • Physical distancing of at least 1.5 meter will be strictly observed.
  • Silence or “No Talking Policy“ will be strictly practiced..
  • Wearing of mask is required within the library premises.
  • One table, one reader is strictly observed.
  • Moving library furnitures from one place to another is highly discouraged.
  • Computers used by the researcher/s will be disinfected after every use.
  • A drop box for book returns is provided at the school lobby.
  • Posting of visible, readable and adqaute signages of health and safety reminders.
  • Implementation of 1.5m foot marking on the floor to properly direct researchers.
  • Installed of exhaust fan for adequate ventilation.
  • Researcher is only allowed to stay inside the library twice a day for 3 hours.

Medical library is limited only to 18 researchers in one seating

College Library is limited only to 22 researchers in one seating

  • All returned books will be quarantined for 72 hours and undergo disinfection before it will be check in and made available for borrowing
  • Social distancing labels for seats
  • One hour before opening hours is allocated for disinfection.
  • Queue in the library counters is limited to 2 persons only.
